US Navy Chaplain Corps LogoStarting September 2022, U.S. Navy Chaplains from Gulfport, Mississippi started providing religious services and counseling to all U.S. Navy personnel stationed at Stennis Space Center, Mississippi.

The effort is being led by LT Wileslie Wint, command chaplain, NCBC Gulfport, as a way to support the navy population at Stennis Space Center and ensuring every Sailor and Navy Civilian has the resources they need in regards to mental and spiritual health.

"As we seek to find work life balance, it also include being balanced spiritually. As a chaplain, regardless of ones believes, I want to encourage everyone to find spiritual balance in their lives." said Wint.

Chaplain Counseling Services are held every 2nd and 4th Tuesday and Catholic Services are held every Tuesday.  Look for an all hands email from Chaplain Wint on changes to the schedule or for any updates.

Chaplain Corps have more than 800 Navy Chaplains from more than 100 different faith groups, including Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist and many others. Each Chaplain is also a Navy Officer, meaning each holds an important leadership role. Chaplains offer everything from faith leadership, to personal advice, to much-needed solace - all while living up to the guiding principles of the Chaplain Mission:

  • Providing religious ministry and support to those of your own faith

  • Facilitating the religious requirements of those from all faiths

  • Caring for all servicemembers and their families, including those subscribing to no specific faith

  • Advising the command in ensuring the free exercise of religion

The Chaplain Corps consists of clergy endorsed from ecclesiastical bodies providing assistance for all Navy, Marine Corps, Merchant Marine, and Coast Guard personnel and their families.
