Chief Petty Officer Levi Osmondson reported to the US Naval Observatory Norfolk, Va. in May 2022.  Prior to his current assignment he was assigned to USS GERALD R. FORD (CVN-78) Norfolk, VA.
 
A native of Abbotsford, Wisconsin, he graduated from Abbotsford High School in 1997 and enlisted in the Navy in 2004 after two stints in college and multiple jobs around the Minneapolis, MN area.  Upon completion of QM “A” School, he reported to USS WASP (LHD-1) for his first tour of duty.  Other afloat assignments include Assault Craft Unit TWO (ACU-2). During his other times at sea he has embarked onboard USS Fort McHenry (LSD-43), USS Iwo Jima (LHD-7), USS New York (LPD-21), USS Monterey (CG-61) and Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN-69).
 
QMC Osmondson’s shore tour was Riverine Group One TEU where it transitioned into Coastal Riverine Group Two TEU. There he earned the qualifications Crew Serve Weapons Line Coaching and High Risk Trainer.
 
His personal awards include the Navy Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (two awards), the Good Conduct Medal (five awards), and various campaign and unit awards.  He is a qualified Expeditionary Warfare Specialist and Enlisted Surface Warfare.
