Dr. Joe Calantoni is the Technical Director at the Naval Meteorology and Oceanography Command where he serves as the principal civilian manager and technical advisor to the Commander of the Naval Meteorology and Oceanography Command (CNMOC) and Task Group 80.7 (CTG 80.7).

Rear Admiral Erin E. O. Acosta

Rear Adm. Erin E. O. Acosta, a native of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, was commissioned in 2000 through the U.S. Naval Academy, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in physical oceanography. She later earned a Master of Science degree in meteorology and physical oceanography from the Naval Postgraduate School.

At sea, Acosta served four years, including as first lieutenant aboard USS Decatur (DDG 73) and as staff oceanographer, scheduler, and staff navigator for Carrier Strike Group 2 embarked aboard USS George H. W. Bush (CVN 77).

Her shore assignments include duty as forecast duty officer and command duty officer at the Naval European Meteorology and Oceanography Center in Rota, Spain; joint meteorology and oceanography officer at Combined Joint Task Force–Horn of Africa as an individual augmentee; requirements officer for the Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Capabilities Division, Chief of Naval Operations Staff (OPNAV N2N6F2); deputy executive assistant to the Oceanographer and Navigator of the Navy (OPNAV N2N6E); executive officer, Fleet Numerical Meteorology and Oceanography Center; and senior oceanography assignment and placement officer, Navy Personnel Command. She also served as associate fellow on the Chief of Naval Operations’ Strategic Studies Group in Newport, Rhode Island, and as chief of staff, Naval Meteorology and Oceanography Command.

Acosta commanded Fleet Weather Center Norfolk and the Naval Oceanography Anti-Submarine Warfare Center, Yokosuka, Japan.

Her personal awards include the Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medals, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medals, Joint Service Achievement Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals, and various campaign and service awards.
