Aerographers Mate Master Chief Anthony Mazzulo joined the Navy on September 3rd, 1996 from Cleveland, Ohio. Upon completion of boot camp, he transferred to Keesler Air Force Base, Biloxi MS where he attended AG A-school.
AGCM Mazzulo’s first tour was onboard the USS Nimitz (CVN68) where he was promoted to Second Class Petty Officer. After a successful tour he transferred in March of 2001 to Naval Oceanography Aviation Detachment Key West, Florida.
While stationed at NAS Key West, Master Chief Mazzulo qualified weather observer and was promoted to First Class Petty Officer. He then transferred back to Keesler AFB in 2005 to attend AG-C school and graduated, earning his 7412 NEC.
At the end of 2005, AGCM reported onboard to Naval Oceanographic Special Warfare Command. There he qualified Fleet Operations Forecaster and completed multiple deployments to Iraq, Afghanistan, and Southeast Asia in support of Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom. During this tour he was promoted to the rank of Chief Petty Officer.
Master Chief Mazzulo then reported to Naples, Italy as the Chief Petty Officer in Charge of Naval Oceanographic and Atmospheric Detachment, Naples, Italy in late 2010. There, he led his detachment in support of Commander, Task Force SIX NINE.
He then transferred to Fleet Weather Center San Diego, Strike Group Oceanography Team where he completed a deployment onboard USS Makin Island (LHD6), served as Readiness and Training department LCPO and was promoted to Senior Chief Petty Officer. In March of 2017 Master Chief Mazzulo reported to Center for Naval Aviation Technical Training Unit, Keesler AFB, where he served as the METOC Department Head.
Upon completion of that tour, he returned to Naval Oceanography Special Warfare Center, San Diego, to serve as their Senior Enlisted Leader. He was promoted to the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer in September of 2019.
He currently serves at Strike Group Oceanography Team Norfolk, Virginia as their Senior Enlisted Leader.
Master Chief Petty Officer Mazzulo’s personal awards include the Purple Heart, Navy Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal and various campaign and service ribbons.
