Recently, Naval Oceanography had one of its own, Aerographer’s Mate Petty Officer 2nd Class (AG2) Corniche King, accepted into the Seaman to Admiral-21 Program (STA-21) that offers qualified enlisted Sailors the ability to move into officer ranks in the U.S. Navy, December 10, 2021. Since the 1960s, then Chief of Naval Operations Admiral Boorda reestablished the program as the admiral believed, "people should have the opportunity to excel, and be all they can be, even if they don't get a perfect or traditional start."
