230606-N-PW480-1004 APRA HARBOR, Guam (June 6, 2023) – A Conductivity, Temperature, and Depth (CTD) instrument is used during survey operations aboard a USNS Henson (T-AGS 63) hydrographic survey vessel in Apra Harbor, June 6. Naval Oceanography detachment embarked on Military Sealift Command (MSC) unit USNS Henson conducted hydrographic and bathymetric work in the inner and outer harbor of Naval Base Guam as part of Typhoon Mawar recovery efforts June 2-9.

Naval Meteorology and Oceanography Command directs and oversees more than 2,500 globally-distributed military and civilian personnel who collect, process, and exploit environmental information to assist Fleet and Joint Commanders in all warfare areas to make better decisions faster than the adversary.
